What is the February Festival of the Arts?  It’s a month long celebration of the arts.  Here’s just a glimpse of some of the events:

Concerts, featuring local, regional, and international musicians:

February 1, 7:30pm: local folk musicians Peter Cooper & Danica Baldry at the Dawson Creek Art Gallery.  Admission is $5 at the door. 

February 17, 7:30pm:  Fort St. John duo and winner of Rockin’ the Peace, Twin Peaks, at the Dawson Creek Art Gallery.  Admission is $10 at the door. 

March 1, 8pm:  The Jeffersons, featuring Lisa Brokop, in concert at KPAC.  Advanced tickets are $20 available at KPAC, Simple Pleasures, and the Dawson Creek Art Gallery.

Songwriters’ workshop: 

February 28, 6:30-9:30pm:  with Lisa Brokop and Paul Jefferson at KPAC.  Cost is $20 per person.  Call 250-782-9325 to register.

Multicultural night of music and food: 

February 23, 7pm:  The Kiwanis Community Band presents, “Around the World in 20 Bites, a Multicultural Mosaic of Food & Entertainment” at KPAC, featuring cuisine from around the world and an entertaining variety show. Tickets are $30 each available from band members, Simple Pleasures & KPAC.

Photography exhibit by local artists:

February 7, 7-9pm: The Dawson Creek Art Gallery Opening Reception for “The Articulate Eye – Looking Beyond the Snapshot” featuring Dawson Creek’s Don Pettit, Emily Parsons, Kurtis Nguyen, and Brian Knodel; Donna Bozarth from Fort St John, and Kim Scott from Grande Prairie.  FREE admission.
