We are excited to present our first Home Routes Concert of our 2012-13 season!

Thursday September 27 at 7:30 at the Dawson Creek Art Gallery featuring Leonard Podolak, a critically acclaimed 5-string claw-hammer banjoist & Matt Gordon, from the original “Riverdance” performing on fiddle & harmonica.

Leonard and Matt are both skilled at hamboning and Appalachian Clogging. Together, they put on an exciting evening of Olde-Time traditional fiddle and banjo music accompanied by some impressive foot stomping. Admission is $20 at the door.

An interesting note: Leonard Podolak is the son of Mitch Podolak, the co-founder of Home Routes and the Winnipeg Folk Festival. Becoming a musician was in his blood and he has been following this passion for over 17 years. This is going to make our first concert of the season even that much more special. They will be touring extensively in the UK this fall.

Home Routes is a non-profit organization based in Winnipeg who coordinate concerts throughout Canada and parts of the US creating a circuit of house concerts for musicians to perform at. These concerts fit their mandate of supporting independent artists and providing an intimate concert experience like no other for the audience in attendance. Visit their website at http://www.homeroutes.ca/ to find out more about this amazing organization we are proud to be a part of.
