Artist Statement: I was inspired by the Syncline Ridge Hills on the lake with their folding lines and interesting structure. The lake s a lovely, peaceful place reflecting the hues of the sky. Jasper has been a place of joy and enrichment to me for many years as I have camped and toured all the usual sites. This scene caught my eye in 2019, and so I set up to draw and paint in “plein air” and produced this from those sketches and colour studies.
