Artist Statement: Trees are some of my favorite subjects to paint. I especially love looking up and studying the canopy’s contrast against the sky color. In this piece I want to take the viewer’s eyes up into the giant’s vibrant new spring leaves. I create these works to share through my own eyes, the diverse and sometimes unnoticed beauty we live amongst. With this goal in mind, I hope to convey the importance of our landscape and inspire its preservation for everyone to benefit from.
