Title: Raven House

Artist Statement: Raven House was the first in my house form series and includes a raven as birds are another motif that recurs in my work. I wanted to explore ways to make moveable art with ceramic, which often seem to sit on a shelf. The house is decorated with a glaze called Agate – I wanted it to look a little like rock, long term and impermeable. The trees and the raven are higher and can be moved to surround the house (or not) as the viewer may wish. Ravens are of course quite common in my area; they are glossy and intelligent, always with lots to say, and so  are good company while one is staying so close to home.
