Artist Statement: Often I hide. I dampen the energy within me with busy-ness, fear and exhaustion. I am afraid that if others see me – what I’m passionate about or what I really think – they won’t really like what they see, so I hide. We all hide and need to learn to be our authentic selves. To step out into the light, be brave and shine! With this painting, I remind myself that the fire within needs to shine out instead of being tamped down. Perhaps when others see my real, authentic self glowing out from the inside, they will be inspired to grow into their true selves, as well. There is strength and fire within. Let it out!
